Revised Opinion After smoking this pipe for a month there are problems with it

After smoking this pipe for a month or so heres the bottom line:The Bit to shaft fit is poor there is a gap between the two you can see light between them.The real problem lies with manufacturing of the pipe,The filter chamber was bored and reamed aprox 1/4 inch to deep in the shaft of the pipe,the filter just slides back and forth in the chamber freely.The smoke travels around the filter as well as some probably passing through;I checked a Dr Graybow Bent Lark pipe I recently bought it has the same filter chamber problem 1/8 inch to deep,bit to shaft fit was ok.I wont be purchasing any more Dr Graybow pipes until they correct their manufacturing problems. I'll stick to Medico!
Dr Grabow hit a home run with this one, its off the chain!

Ive smoked medico varsity pipes for years the bowls have always been a bit to big;this ones perfect.I intend to buy another one to have a pair. I considered the Dr Grabow Royalation but it has a 7/8" inside bowl Dia. To big for me. It would be nice if they made the Royal Duke in a smoothe finish as well.

As far as I see it when it comes to to buying a pipe you have two options. Extravagant or simply functional. This pipe isn't quite over the top in beauty but for the price and size it has it's own exceptional quality. It is a bit larger than I'm used to and the actual bowl is big enough for a good 15 minute to an hour smoke. Personally I wish I could afford the $150 pipes but this does just as well without the flash.
