Former’s Straight Grain Flake is much fuller strength than most of the other Former’s blends. This is achieved by using flue-cured Virginias and a good-sized portion of Perique. You’ll experience something different with every puff of this complex blend. A word of caution, if you’re new to stronger blends, take it slow on your first try. This flake pipe tobacco isn’t the mellow Vir/Pers you might be familiar with.

Formers Straight Grain Flake
Of the Strong Virginia Perique flakes - and I do mean strong - this loads and burns the cleanest in the pipe with zero harsh aftertastes that Perique can easily deliver with this percentage level of your flake. Because you will not have to relight often, you may easily get lost in the fig and plum flavors, only becoming aware of your nicotine consumption upon standing up to set away from your pipe. Every serious VaPer smoker is missing out if you don't own this tin. They are doing something different there at Formers and it shines through in this flake. Is it the quality of tobacco? Is it the process? I guess I can only enjoy and wonder.

Hazelnut caramel notes
The tin reminded me of hazelnuts and caramel cream it was a very good smoke. This may sound odd but the flavor tasted like a donut shop smells first thing in the morning delicious.
