Lighting a Tobacco Pipe:
Properly lighting the tobacco in the pipe will allow for maximum taste, airflow and an even burn. Lighting the tobacco properly will also help in keeping the tobacco lit. It is recommended that a butane lighter or a match be used to light the tobacco. We strongly recommend NOT using a torch style lighter as it could quickly burn and ruin the pipe.
Pipe tobacco burns best when it had two false lights to char the tobacco.
- Puff on the pipe and take the lighting source and pass it across the top of the tobacco evenly and slowly. When the top of the tobacco is charred, stop and let the tobacco burn out. Use a pipe tamper to push down the charred tobacco.
- Repeat step 1 to ensure there is a good layer of charred tobacco on the top.
- Now, while puffing on the pipe take your lighting source and in a circular motion light the tobacco. Ensure that the top layer is burning and continue to gently puff on the pipe.
That’s it! You are now ready to enjoy the tobacco pipe lifestyle!
