Poor quality control by Savinelli
This 2 star rating is NOT a reflection of Tobaccopipes.com, only the quality of the Savinelli pipe I received. I received this pipe promptly and it was packed with care by Tobaccopipes.com. However, upon taking the pipe out of the box for inspection, I immediately saw that the stem was twisted out of shape near the mouthpiece, apparently during the hardening process, and was not aligned properly. There was a card in the box from Savinelli stating that this pipe was inspected by Quality Control and even had an id number, apparently of the inspector. Savinelli either ignored this defect and shipped it anyway, or the QC inspector is not very thorough. This is a beautiful pipe but I had to return it due to the defective stem. I am brand new to pipe smoking and I noticed the defect right away, I don't know how Savinelli could let this pipe ship in this condition. Probably will look for another brand of pipe.
