Vauen Auenland Friddo Rustic Churchwarden Tobacco Pipe

My wife bought me this pipe for Christmas, and Christmas eve after all of the kids and grandkids had left I sat by the fireplace and loaded it with some new Canal Boat that was also in my stocking. It will always be one of my most memorable smokes. The pipe is extremely well made (as are my three other Vauen Pipes). This is my first church warden pipe and although I thought it was sort of a novelty at first, I now realize that it is an extremely good smoking pipe. The wooden stem with the plastic insert and the acrylic bit is quite a piece of craftsmanship. This pipe is just an all around joy to own.

Really well made churchwarden. The Vauen filter works better than any filters I've tried in a pipe. The pipe only comes with 1 9mm filter and does not come with an insert if you choose to not use the filters. I had to order some more filters as well as one of the inserts. So far, I'm pleased with how it smokes with the filter in place. Kinda shocked actually. Huge improvement over basic balsa wood filters. The stem does have a plastic insert for ease of cleaning. Stem hardly had any residue at all when using the filter. The acrylic bit on the end is round and fairly large going into the mouth. Let's face it. This is a LOTR geek pipe. It's got the vibe from the movies and any other bit on the end wouldn't be very authentic. I'm actually very impressed. Quality addition to all my Dunhills, Petersons, and others.

Smokes cool and smooth, and lets me escape to the Shire. If used with a Vauen 9mm filter, it will take the bite out of any pipe weed. Expertly made, gorgeous to look at and fun to smoke.

Large bowl feels good in the hand. It smokes like a champ, looks wonderful, and I get a lot of compliments on it. I would like the rest of this series (in sandblast). Easy to smoke, easy to clean, and easy to look at.
