Legendary Ashton cigars hardly need an introduction. One of the heavyweights in the US for over three decades, Ashton cigars are sold all over the world and handmade in the Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic. Created by Robert Levin in the 1980s, Ashton cigars are crafted with expertise and meticulous attention to quality.
Levin is a giant in his own right. Growing up, he spent time working for his father at the legendary Holt's Cigar Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Holt's shop has been in business since 1911, with Albert and Jean Levin purchasing the store in 1957. Later, in 1974, Levin took control of Holt's, and he still runs the shop to this day. By 1980, they were so successful that they were able to acquire Harry Tint & Sons, another historic cigar store that has been around since 1898.
After a downturn in popularity thanks to the rise of cigarettes, the cigar industry saw a significant boom in the early 1990s, which greatly benefited many companies. Thanks to Levin's stewardship, Ashton and Holt's turned the industry boom into a massive gain. Robert Levin's savvy business practices and deep understanding of the cigar world was the primary reason for his company thriving.
Ashton is now helmed by Robert Levin and his son, Sathya. This power duo upholds the legacy of the Ashton Cigar Company. Robert's daughter Meera has also joined the company, providing another link in the family chain.
