A fantastic, affordable Balkan/English blend. I buy it by the pound.
I've smoked Balkan and English blends since the mid 1970s. This Balkan (made by Peter Stokkebye) has been my mainstay for years. I enjoy several Balkan/English blends from GL Pease and Samuel Gawith, among others, but am equally pleased with this Balkan, at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend it.
My all day smoke with jaunts to ps 306 and ps52. buy pounds... Many...
I smoked Balkan Sobranie way back in the 60's. This blend has the soft, smooth taste of the classic.
Balkan blends are my favorite and this one it at the top of that list. I honestly believe that its the bulk version of our beloved Sobrani. So rich and smooth with a touch of sweetness. Just about a daily smoke for me. Highly recommended if you are into Balkans.
Oh my. I bought a pound of this to cellar for a few months/years, but held back an ounce to try. I tried it out in an AKB meerschaum and with the first bowl I hit a strong wave of spice to the point I call the Listerine effect, where if you take a sip of water your mouth stings as if using Listerine. I thought, uh-oh, I'm not going to like this! However, as the bowl progressed to my pleasant surprise the spice faded, and then, very nicely, waxed and waned, but never over powered. Fantastic medium strength Latakia. Love it! Immediately bought another pound!
You call it Supreme I call it Sublime This is Arcadia My choice every time A smoke ever-smooth Never biting or sharp It’s tobacco akin To a heavenly harp The sweet, thick, white smoke Is a sonnet to taste No other tobacco Could usurp its place
I really enjoy this blend, and have introduced it into my daily rotation. I’m impressed by the quality vs. price. I actually prefer it over Sobranie..
Didn't particular like.
