After 50 years of smoking a pipe, I realized that I had never tried Captain Black. Looking at the reviews, I decided to order four varieties. With this one, the cherry topping came through right away, but I found it to be somewhat rough around the edges. I blended in 25% Sutliff, chocolate, mousse, and found that the cherry was still there, but the rough edges were gone. Frankly, at a little under nine dollars for a 1.5 ounce pouch, when you can get a 1.75 ounce tin of Cult Blood Red Moon for eleven dollars makes kthe choice a no-brainer if you want a good cherry Aromatic as far as I am concerned

Quality as expected by Captain Black
Bought this one a whim as I like the traditional Captain Black blend, and haven't been disappointed. When you open the bag, you get a really strong cherry smell. Once lit, the aroma stays true and is really nice smooth smoke. Stayed lit quite a long time and does not burn hot.

I, unfortunately, just wasn't able to enjoy this smoke, due to the heavy artificial/chemical topping of that cherry flavoring. Smelling it in the pouch and you can get it right off the bat that it's heavily topped with an artificial/chemical flavoring and it completely takes away from the smoking experience in a negative way for me.
