The Cornell & Diehl Atlas Balkan is a medium to strong blend of Burley, Latakia and a healthy dose of Perique. Called a Balkan, it is labeled as a “Traditional English”, but the absence of Virginia leaves that up for debate. A good choice for fans of Perique and Latakia.

A very good balkan with tons of flavor
First off, this stuff was crispy dry as it came to me. A rare miss by the great staff here at tobacco pipes. I spare it could just be like that but still not good. Once moistened to my liking the flavor did come back and it was smokable but it's not a mixture I could honestly recommend to anyone. I found it to be a bit harsh and much more fragrant than flavorful. I also found it to bite the tongue, which is a sensation I'm not real used to after a lot of pipe smoking. It may be an okay blend if you like classic American blends but if you're looking for an actual Balkan or you're a fan of English I'd pass.
A good addition to the tobacco I have to add a little spice to it.
Flavor is very nice, The Latakia blend is subtle, but still present. The bite creeps up on you.
to strong for me now. was not back in the day
IT IS NOT A STRONG FLAVOUR, BUT THE PRICE IS REASONABLE FOR 12oZ.
