    A staple in my Cellar

Burley tobaccos are what I always lean towards when looking for an all-day smoke. I like the strength of this for all-day enjoyment. Nice how a nice hint of perique warms it up near the end of the bowl. It's one of those smokes that leave you wanting more at the end of your pipe, really enjoyed all the way through.

    Strong

This was good but very strong. I only go for more mild aromatics, although a friend wanted to try something more like a cigarette. Still too strong for a pipe.

    Burley at its best

Haunted Bookshop is a blend that grows on you. When my son bought it for me I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like it. I occasionally smoked it for a couple weeks giving it a chance. I had to learn to smoke it slowly to keep it from getting a ashey taste. Now I have it matched to the proper pipe and I find I smoke it every day. A pipe with a wide shallow bowl seems to work best, or a cob. It’s an acquired taste for sure but well worth the time and patience. I will keep a jar full from now on.

    Great Burley

Dry pillowy smoke, slightly sweet and bitter, very nutty and a tiny bit of spice

    Not my bag

HB is a 'cult' favorite with the members of at least two of the FB pipe-smoking groups, but I'm not with 'em. I found it too strong and lacking in character and flavor. I've never smoked a cigarette in my life but this blend had me thinking it was comparable to that. I tried three bowls, but it failed to please so I shipped the remaining (which was a lot!) to a fella on one of the groups who was curious about it.
