An exotic departure from traditional tobacco flavor

Posted by Devin Baker on 25th Nov 2023

The distinguished character of this blend is apparent as soon as you open the tin. I would agree with others that it has an almost candy-like aroma, but while some find it off-putting, I found it sweetly intoxicating. It's a "cool", icy, and refreshing kind of candy though, like a minty blueberry or grape. This is also one of the few tobaccos I've had where the tin note translates very faithfully into the actual smoking flavor. The cool, bittersweet flavor of whatever fruit and alcohol put into this blend is certainly the spotlight of the smoking experience, with the chosen tobaccos expertly supporting it's unique flavor throughout the smoke. I would agree again with others that it has an incense-like quality as well. I could understand why some might be put off by its unusual flavor, but I found it to be a pleasant smoke with a magical touch. An easy buy if you are looking for an adventurous blend.

Smells and tastes like nerd candy

Posted by Tobias Thompson on 13th May 2023

Not sure how people are getting grapes and wine - maybe there’s some inconsistencies between batches? To me and a friend I let hit this, it tasted like nerd candy. Not bad if you have a sweet tooth. Pretty aromatic though, I was expecting something a little subtler, but honestly I like it as it is. If you find that to be overpowering or off putting, then leaving it out will probably fix that up for you. I like it. Not my favorite of the tobaccos I have, but it’s not bad by any stretch and certainly flavorful. I’d buy it again.

    Visions of hurl

This is the first bowl of tobacco I’ve ever dumped out. It tastes like rancid grapes . I do enjoy all types of tobacco , but this …… this is a bad joke played on us all. C&D obviously had a batch go sour on them and they decided to name it and sell it. Horrid

    Like a Strange Dream

This tobacco has a most unique scent and taste. The scent is like red wine poured for you, as you sit in an old library, dusty smokey, sweet, wine. The taste is like drinking this wine while burning incense, in this library. If you are looking for a taste that is truly mysterious and strange, I highly recommend this.

    Surprisingly Good

Posted by Dwayne Beckom on 1st Feb 2022

I am typically an English or VAPER smoker with a great love for Oriental leaf, but when Visions of Celephais first came out I was drawn to it and immediately bought 8-10 tins. As with all tobacco and cigars, I smoke some when they first arrive, the store the rest for at least 6-12 months before I go back to it. Upon first opening the can I was hit with a strong, almost off-putting perfumy scent. The first bowl had the same taste, but everyone around complimented me on the wonderful aroma. At that point I knew that it was in need of some rest, so I left the tin open overnight for it to breath, then waited 3-4 weeks before I came back to it. Upon first light I was amazed at the difference in flavor. As I burned through that first tin, it got better and better. Do yourself a favor and don’t give up on this tobacco if you find the first bowlful off-putting…let it rest and give it a few more tries. If you are a mainly VAPER or English smoker and find it “lacking” in something, add a bit of Perique or smoky Latakia and enjoy!

First time trying this. I don't know what its supposed to taste like but this was an adventure for sure. To me it tasted like fresh grapes followed by a more grape-juice type thing going on. A bit earthy and sweet as well. No relights smoked down to ash and never bit once. It surprised me because the taste is very very much there and now my entire house smells amazing.

Tastes as good as it smells!

Posted by Chris Streeper on 25th Apr 2020

Normally I smoke English blends, but purchased this on the recommendation of an associate who described it as "unique." Visions have one of the absolute BEST, straight out of the tin, scents that I have ever had the pleasure of tickling my olfactory sensors! Similar to a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day. The taste is as good as the aroma. My wife loved the room note. I will purchase this one again.
