This one is ALMOST a bit much for my usual liking but boy this is a fun smoke and a nice change of pace once in a while. I fully get the maple syrup flavor and the smoky savory notes really do come through for me as a bacon'y note. No, it doesn't taste JUST like bacon but the essence of that comes through for sure. Maybe a touch sweet for my liking but it's not over the top and overall this was a pretty well-behaved smoke and was smooth and very enjoyable. Surprisingly well executed for a pretty experimental concept. I highly recommend if you're looking for something out of the ordinary but is actually handled with some finesse.

Okay, first off I didn't know what to think when I added this to my cart and checked out. It was one of those buys like the candy bar in the check out like at the local grocery store. Anyway maple and bacon are my two favorite flavors in the world. I love maple bacon.. I crave it!! And yet I wondered what did I just buy? Well I bought a blend that will take you back to opening day of deer season with dad all those years ago. The aroma and taste perfectly touches all the right buttons when it comes to comfort smoking and does not try too hard while doing so. The maple is there just enough to be noticed and the bacon... Is it bacon? or just the right amount of smoky lat that tricks you .. whatever it is... It works well! Sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and this stuffed in a pipe on a chilly fall evening is enough to turn any rotton day into a perfect way to end your day on.a good note.
