Hot pressed means that the Flake tobacco is heated during the pressing process. This causes steam to form and intensifies the taste of the tobaccos. Mac Baren HH Old Dark Fired Pipe Tobacco is a Burley and Virginia mix but the heated pressing adds a heaping dose of boldness that will leave the smoker thinking of their favorite Latakia blends.

This is my first experience with this type of tobacco, takes some getting used too, However, I like it and it's growing on me.

    Classic Must-try blend

This classic is a must-try - good strength (if that's your thing), won't bite the tongue and fantastic flavors. I tried a small tin, then moved on to bulk purchases.

    Old Dark Fired hot press

To be completely honest this was my first time to try this tobacco. I’m 95% all English smoker and have a love affair with latakia. I was pleasantly surprised in the complexity of this blend. I really enjoyed it and moving it into my rotation.

It's by far my favorite for quality and taste. I would give it 6 stars if there were a option.

    Hearty

In the can smell is hearty and earth tones, smoking it is exceptionally smooth. Great aroma. My first time trying flake cut-I’ll be getting more.

    Old Dark Fired

I was very surprised! This is an excellent mixture.. Very strong without knocking me out, at the same time smooth, full of flavor. Slight chocolate on the retro-hale. Burns well right to the end leaving white ash. I cannot say enough good things about this tobacco. My wife did not appreciate the room note hence I'm not sure it's correct in the description. Will definitely stock up when the Coronavirus restriction will be finally over!

Very good tobacco. If you're an aromatic smoker and looking for something a little different give this a try. Excellent flavor!

This is a full-bodied 5-star blend! Bought specifically for the strength and am delighted with how smooth it is! Smooth as silk throughout even though there is pepperiness! How'd they done that? This blend is a contradiction that's hard to explain: smooth but peppery; not complex (to me) maybe even flat in terms of seeming completely melded with no variation. None the less a FABULOUS smoke! Sad yet thoroughly satisfied when the bowl is spent.

    A Masterpiece!

Tin note very Leathery Earthy and Masculine. There's a faint sweet note tucked under golden foil neatly cut dark brown with some golden spots flakes. Perfectly moistened and ready to smoke. I took one and a half flakes folded it and gently loosen with fingers and filled the Pipe. I choose Vaun smooth finished pot style Pipe which smokes very good. Right from the first charing light, it gives very earthily smoky as if you're sitting near a campfire. Smoke is thick and the taste is very mouthfull. Although the taste remains earthy nutty throughout the bowl but I can get the taste of very dark chocolate far in the background. I'm surprised it's Mac Baren and it doesn't Bite! even if pushed hard but you got to be careful as this stuff is hard in nic hit department you tend to get dizzy if puffed constantly.
