Erik Nording's experience has been unconventional from the very beginning. That has shaped his designs and decisions to the present day.
Erik Nording's life was not easy. He lost his father at a young age and was sent to school to learn the trades of a blacksmith and an engineer. This was to help him take control of his father's razor blade and garden tool factory. Instead, it led him to the world of smoking pipes and a business that has earned rave reviews almost from the start.
Nording was contracted to build a pipe making machine for a Copenhagen-based pipe repairer. After struggling to receive payment for his labor, Nording instead managed to form a partnership that helped him eventually become one of the most well respected names in Denmark's great pipe making lineage.
Nording has been a family business for over 55 years, and the second and third generations have come in to continue the legacy.
The Nording Group series is yet another one of the freehand designs that Nording has been known for and excels. With his engineering background, it should come as no surprise that Erik manages to wow with amazing shapes and appearances every time he creates a new piece. Nording takes the traditional looks and adds his special flair to them, turning what would be a fairly standard smoking pipe into something one of a kind.
These are perfect for collectors since they are both unique and more affordable than many of the smoking pipes that share the quality of this series. Whenever these pipes are resting on a pipe stand, or you are holding them in your hand, they will look great. You will always have a timeless classic when you pick up a pipe from the Nording Group series.
