The 106 could be called the father of the 06, although that might be a little backwards. Nearly the same shape, an Irish straight Billiard, the 106 here is a bit bigger in both length and bowl size. Add the accoutrements of the Army series--sterling silver army mount and warm walnut stain--and you’ve got yourself a handsome and highly functional addition to your collection. Presented here with the PLIP mouthpiece.

Outstanding first experience smoking a PLIP and utilizing an Army mount. The 106 is a larger pipe and will provide an hour’s worth of smoking with a properly packed bowl. My recommendation is usage while sitting as the weight and length of this pipe is not necessarily conducive to enjoying it while actively engaged in another activity. The Army mount’s ability to be removed while hot is a bonus for those pipers who’ve got competing demands (kids, wife, etc), and need to clean and stow at a moments notice. Peterson’s PLIP combined with an Army mount is phenomenal for a good relaxing smoke.
