A masterful mix of golden, red, and dark Virginia's, Burley, and Black Cavendish tobacco give the Peterson Nutty Cut Pipe Tobacco an intensive flavor profile. Flavored with rum, coconut, and macadamia, this aromatic blend tastes tropical, smooth, and delicious. A mild/medium bodied flavor profile combined with a sweet room note makes this bend perfect for the smoker who enjoys quality aromatic pipe tobacco and needs just a little more flavor than traditional aromatics.

I hope to change this review in time but at the moment after three bowls over a couple of weeks, I'm disappointed. I *think* there might be some good tobacco in there. I've never had Peterson fail me like this before. I might not like a tin of Peterson as a matter of preference but the contents of a Peterson tin was always clearly something decent. Until this tin. A strong odor of something, not tobacco rose. As I have smoked each bowl something that tastes vaguely of coconut oil overwhelms whatever the tobacco might be. I've noted a similar experience with some other tobaccos by other manufacturers. I am coming to suspect that since the odor is similar that this is either some effect of whatever liquid might be used in the flavoring or processing, or some sort of preservative. Other blends from elsewhere have smelled like this (I'm looking at you, MacBarren). I'm hopeful it will fade with time and air.
Sign me: disappointed.
Definitely Virginia heavy, great tin note (sweet, rum). Stays lit, comes to life as you work your way through the bowl.
Nice light rum aroma from the tin which comes through nicely when smoked works well with the nice nutty taste and stays the entire bowl. Highly recommend
Opening the pouch I was greeted with a nice rum smell, not too strong but definitely there. The nut smell became more present by breaking up the tobacco. Once lit it burned well and the taste was great light rum, nuts and a hint of coconut. If you're looking for a heavy flavor this isn't for you. It's like having a salad on a hot day. Nice and light. Flavour was great throughout and no tongue bite at all
You do get a light nutty vanilla type taste , nice room note nothing over done ,or overpowering .. Pleasant , i feel is the best way of describing it. Not being a big aromatic fan , anyone who prefers aromatics ,might smoke this everyday day it is suitable for it no doubt..
Alright, I'm a big fan of Cornell and Diehl's "Nutty Irishman" and Middleton's "Kentucky Club Mixture", and I have to now include this blend as another of my nutty favorites. The tin note is good, but it doesn't really compare to the actual flavor of the smoke itself. This blend is very full-flavored for an aromatic, but it is not overbearing. It smokes cool and consistently, and I DO detect nuts and a slight coconut on the tongue. But I can taste a bit of the rum on exhaling through my nose. You must pay attention, but these flavors, along with the Vas and burleys, are all there. Try exhaling the smoke a little at a time through your nose, gently, and you'll see. Also no appreciable bite. Really, really yummy tobacco. Highly recommended!
This is one of my favorites of all time. Great room note and pretty tasty as well. Burns smooth and cool and did I say a pretty good taste. Oh....it has a pretty good taste throughout the bowl. Bottom line......it has a pretty good taste. I find different pallets taste different flavors.......I get coconut and a bit of a nutty flavor. I have a friend that gets more fruity flavors and a bit of fig taste. I think this is a real winner. I will say that some tins have more and different flavors than others. To settle the flavor I suggest you let each tin dry somewhat. Don't get me wrong as the tobacco is not goopy or even very moist but it is almost like the tobacco needs breathe for a bit. Really it is a tasty tobacco!
If you're a fan of aromatics, I believe this will be one of your favorites - it's definitely one of mine...
Probably my favorite of all the blends I've tried. Solid nutty taste although no hints of rum or coconut come through. Perhaps they add some slight sweetness, but not too sweet. Great room note, & very little bite. Burns slowly and may requite a few relights. Not an all day smoke, but an excellent evening relaxation blend that has definitely earned a top spot in rotation.
