The Royal Yacht Mixture from the Peterson company is the tobacco world's epitome of a pure and full flavored Virginia blend. Royal Yacht

Before making a decision about this one of a kind experience, take the time to view an older movie entitled " Captains Courageous" even better light up a bowl, sit back and savor the maturity this blend offers.

    I like it........

Flavored gorgeous Virginia tobacco with a strong kick of nicotine. I think the price is a little high for a 50g package, but I like it overall.

    Good Dunhill blend

Posted by Brent on 22nd Apr 2020

Impressive full flavor without heavy Latakia. I myself do not get the topping as much, just rich smooth smoke. I will let dry out to see if there is an improvement on detecting the added flavors mentioned. Recommended after a good meal or as a night cap.

DUNHILL / PETERSON ROYAL YACHT MIXTURE

Posted by oldmanbourbon on 7th Mar 2020

As some other reviewers have commented, this blend is probably most enjoyable by more experienced pipe smokers, as it tends to have greater complexity compared to other, milder blends. Having smoked for 10 plus years, taking a puff from my first bowl gave a real start – this product was far different from others I had smoked! After finishing that bowl (then followed by many others), the blend has become a go-to in my tobacco rotation. For those smokers seeking a blend with greater depth in strength, taste and room note, this mixture is spot on. Virginia’s sweetness makes this blend enjoyable from the first to the last bowl of the day!

My favorite hearty Virginia. The odd plum topping somehow makes it just perfect. Full-bodied va flavor with good nicotine to boot! Pure satisfaction.

    Very enjoyable

Very lovely blend, in a nutshell, I can say that its probably due to the amount of nicotine that keeps me coming back to this stuff. Yet that's not the only thing going for it if your a fan of Virginia's more than likely you'll enjoy this. For people who used to smoke cigarettes or have a high tolerance for nicotine, you'll enjoy this wholeheartedly.

    Peterson-v-Dunhill

The Peterson version of Royal Yacht is a weaker strength, harsh version with no discernible plum whatsoever. What once I would have said was perhaps the best tobacco in the world is merely a solid average. I don't know what happened, but something did.

    A Treat

This is certainly an exceptional tobacco. The Virginia tobaccos are definitely top notch. Smokes and tastes great. A hint of plum shines through, so guessing that's a topping on it. This is not an everyday tobacco, but one I grab when I have some time and want a nice treat.

Will Make You Feel More Alive

Posted by Joe on 7th Apr 2018

Will smoking this tobacco make you more of a man? I can't answer that for sure. But I can tell you it's quite possibly my favorite pipe tobacco I've ever tried. I've smoked a pipe on and off for a little over a decade, mostly smoking aromatics from my local tobacconist and only recently branching out. Since I started branching out, I've tried 20-25 tobaccos of varying dominant tobaccos (perique, dark fired Kentucky, cigar tobacco, etc.). However, out of all the tobaccos I've tried this and Dunhill 965 are unquestionably my favorites. I'm trying to determine an absolute favorite between the two, but I'm really leaning towards Royal Yacht. This tobacco is amazing. It has some smokiness to the flavor, it kind of reminds me of Early Morning Pipe but with a little less "sharp" of a flavor. I know that's not a technical term at all, but that's the best way I can describe it. To compare it to craft beer, it's not lighter like a session IPA, it's more like your workhorse IPA, good strong flavor & nothing fancy (like say a tropical IPA or New England IPA), but immensely enjoyable. So enjoyable you can go to it any time you're in the mood for a good, reliable smoke. Does that description not make any sense? Well then, you'll just have to buy a tin and try it. You will love it.
