**Manufacture Change: Lightly Vacuum Sealed with Plastic Seal On Tin**

Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader is one of those almost-perfect tobacco blends that every fan of English blends should keep a stock of. It’s medium-bodied, smooth and easy to smoke, while still giving enough strength to satisfy. This blend won’t knock you out, but it will knock your socks off -- the perfect balance in our humble opinion.

    Favorite English

Decided to pick some of this stuff up recently and it instantly became my favorite English. I’m not the best at picking out note but something about it make this blend smooth and creamy. One issue I had was that there was no vacuum on the tin at all so I’m not sure about long term storage for these.

I want to like it, but...

Just doesn't work for me. Tastes soapy and bites. Tossing out the tin to make way for something better.

Very bland and tasteless compared to what it used to be.

    Perfectly balanced

It can't be said enough how balanced this blend is. From the top of the bowl to the bottom nothing took center stage, just a great even flavor throughout. It seemed too moist upon opening the tin but to my surprise it gave off a pleasurable, heavy and dry smoke. Very little moisture in the bowl. One of my new favorites from the very first bowl.

This is what an English blend should taste like. Nothing in this blend jumps out at me but I love it right ratio of tobaccos, very well balanced.

mild but does have a bite

Will skip it in future. Rather expensive and not as good as Navy cut gold.

    Worth the wait!

Finally! This is one of those elusive blends that for whatever reason I couldn't ever get my hands on. Was thrilled to finally pick some up. Lived up to the hype for sure. If you like english blends that are mild enough for all day puffing this checks the box. More subtle than Nightcap or Maltese Falcon but still flavorful. Hoping to find more and keep in my rotation.
