Nice but burns hot
I love Savinelli pipes. I shopped for a while for this pipe and thought I had found a pipe with every option rolled into one. I love the military mount, and the Savinelli version of the P-Lip I like very much. The pipe clinches well and is comfortable while clinched. This pipe is also very small. Much smaller that I originally thought. However, I like the small size. What makes this pipe a 4 star instead of a five is that it burns extremely hot. It gets so hot you cannot touch it. I have tried different tobaccos in it and it just gets so hot I can't even hold it. I only have 4-5 bowls in it so I am hoping building up some cake may help. The thin walls of the bowl may be the culprit of the excess heat. The extreme heat takes away from an otherwise awesome pipe.
