Savinelli 804 Roma KS Lucite Stem
This king size Canadian Shape from Savinelli with its beautiful lucite stem is one of my most smoked and most loved pipes in my collection. Tobaccopipes seems to be one of the only online carriers of this particular pipe and I am so grateful for this company for carrying it, with their care and wonderful customer service. Back to the pipe. The 804 Roma Lucite is simply a masterpiece if you ask me. The proportions of this pipe are excellent, The acrylic stem is beautiful and tough saving you the troubles of oxidation and tooth chatter that can more easily develop in vulcanite stems. The rustication is rugged and I find more comfortable to hold than a smooth finish. If you’ve never held a Canadian shape and are on the fence about it I would say take the plunge pick this pipe up and just hold it in your hand and feel how balanced and comfortable and it is. Remember, the Canadian shape was the original Bings favorite in his early years. For me personally Canadian shapes and particularly the offerings from Savinelli are cool smokers with their long straight shank alleviating any resistance that would be found in bent pipes that can cause moisture buildup. You can clench this pipe, it is relatively light but I would say these pipes are meant to be held. Overall the 804 Roma Lucite is an excellent product and a true classic.
