You have probably heard of Solani before, but you may have never tried one of their tobaccos. Now that we proudly carry Solani tobacco, we can tell you that a great middle of the road place to begin is with the Golden Label blend. This english blend is a standard combination of selected Orientals, Virginia, and Latakia tobacco. A deep smoky flavor, but with a tame nicotine level, any level pipe smoker can thoroughly enjoy a tin.

A very light flat tobacco for a Latakia

Not a tobacco I would buy again. I had to fortify it by adding straight Latakia and a pinch of straight perique.

    Quite subtle and pleasant

Very good blend, I tried it for weeks now. It burns slowly and leaves an agreeable note on the tongue. If you are entering the English mix, this one is a good beginning.

    Orientals in this blend

Posted by Verified Customer on 17th May 2018

This is a very good blend of Virginia, Latakia, and Orientals (mostly Turkish, I think). It is smokey, the moisture level is on the dry side, and the nicotine level is not high at all. However, I find, personally, that this blend tastes a little bit like Turkish cigarettes (after all it contains Turkish tobacco). These Orientals are, at times, spicy, sharp, and may bite your tongue. I think one has to get used to it or it might become better with age. Try it if you like English blends.
