Cypriot Latakia not nearly as good as Syrian used to be. The tobbaco was very dry, burned hot and too quickly. I suspect it's been in the warehouse too long.

Smooth, no bite, pipe tobacco
I've been smoking a pipe regularly for about 25 years now. After trying dozens of different blends, cuts, regions, and makers, I've settled on this one for the last 15 year. It's inexpensive which is nice, but the flavor is also unmatched. Due to its higher moisture content, it burns slow and tastes smooth with none of the usual tongue bite you get from drier tobacco's. The vanilla is distinctive, and not over-powering or sickly sweet either. I also love the fact that it consists of pure tobacco that is water and sugar cured with an addition of pure vanilla extract which makes it the best production quality tobacco on the market that I've found. No chemicals, not additives. Just a great tobacco at a great price. The only drawback that I've found is that the stem has to be cleaned much more often as the moisture and tar buildup is much faster due to the moisture content. Other than that, this is a great tobacco that I enjoy smoking every day and 99% of the folks that smell it tell me that it reminds them of a favorite uncle, their grandfather, or some other pleasant memory.
