Sutliff Red Virginia Crumble Kake Pipe Tobacco - 1.5 oz

this is a nice Virginia blend, I let my sister try it she also liked it

Tonight tried my second non-aromatic, Sutliff Crumble Kake, in the Savinelli Miele, a filtered pipe. The Crumble Kake had a strong acidic aroma upon opening the can, but not unpleasant. The tobacco was strong, for me. I usually smoke mild aromatics, 1-2 on the strength scale. This, again to me, was a 3 on that scale. I was surprised that I liked it so much. No tongue bite. Just a great smoke. Will try it in an unfiltered pipe next time. At any rate, I'll be adding Crumble Kake as well as Sutliff 507 to my regular rotation, along with my favorite aromatics. Pipe smoking is becoming an adventure, as well as a relaxing experience. Blessings to all!

A friend sent me a sample of this delicious blend which triggered my purchase of enough to last a while! The front end is a beautiful, sweet, and tangy, flavor. The back end is almost citrusy! The Red Virginia is center stage on this one and stealing the show!

I was lucky enough to try this and the other two blends (English and the Va/Per) at Sutliff’s factory before they were released on the market. From that day the Red Virginia became one of my most favorite blends. And when I say that I love this blend, I mean it - I have about 35 tins of it and plan on buying more and more whenever I can do so. This blend satisfies the Sweet Tooth and it tastes great from the false light all the way down to the bottom of the bowl. I don’t know how to really explain it any better than this: this is a great, great blend. I’ve not met a single person that has had anything bad to say about it. The worst I’ve ever heard someone say about this blend is that it was “pretty good, but it’s really not for me”. That’s literally the most ‘negative’ comment I’ve heard about this blend. The rest of the people have liked it a lot and added to their regular rotation and more than a couple have been almost as fanatical about it as I am. Give this blend a try; I really can’t imagine that you, fellow tobacco fan, would not like it.

I am strictly a VA/VAPAR man. Now a days my "go to" tobacco is Escudo, but it was a pleasure to find this excellent naturally sweet medium bodied straight red VA. It's a real pleasure when you want a light, sweet easy "middle of the road VA smoke. No, it's not the most interesting or complex VA you will find, but it is damn, damn good stuff!

Update...after a few months...I like this A LOT..sweet, toasted, bready, doughy..molasses..flavors intensify towards the end of the bowl...Comes in a few kakes..this is a sweet, deep and complex MELLOW red Kake, I ended up buying 3 to be able to age and enjoy this one as the Virginia ages. If you enjoy quality Virginias in Kake form as I do, try this one. I won't be disappointed.

I've become a fan..so much so that upon receiving my first tin, I ordered 2 more..very mellow with deep red Virginia sweet grassy, slightly citrusy, but extremely smooth, no bite, cool burning character. One of my very favorites.

I give this a 5 start because it is as close to a good red Virginia as you can get, since We don’t have Mccranies, opening the tin you get bombarded with vinegar but just let it air for a bit and you are good to go, unlike another brand of red kake , the kake crumbles well and lights and stays lit for a good smoke.
