    Carolina "Flakes"

Posted by Kevin on 11th May 2022

This is a great addition to anyone's arsenal. It is basically bone dry microchips of Virginia. No flavor added, just kinda unobtrusive tobacco flavor. Mandatory for blending into anything that needs a bit of structure. To wet, no problem add this. Too aromatic, no problem add this. Too much latakia or oriental add this. A must have for the home blender!! A+

    Must Have

Posted by Heinz on 22nd Sep 2021

I'm a bit surprised that I am the first to review this essential blending tobacco. I have included it in every order since I tried it. In fact, I order it in 8 oz. bags now. It's very dry and smells a bit like a bale of fresh alfalfa. It's good on its own. It burns fast and can be a little astringent. But, where it becomes essential, is for blending. If you have a tobacco that just doesn't light or stay lit, or a tobacco that gums up your pipe, try mixing in this Carolina Flake. It loosens things up, counter-balances excessively moist blends (especially Cavendish), yet doesn't intrude. Don't give up on a disappointing tobacco. Try blending. Or at least give this Carolina Flake a try. I rank it as a "Must Have"!
