W. O. Larsen was the name of a tobacco shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. It founded in the 1960s, quickly becoming one of the most famous shops in the city. It would become almost a pilgrimage site for loyal pipe smokers, where they sold popular tobaccos as well as smoking pipes from famous Danish names such as Hans "Former" Nielsen, Knudsen, Chonowitch, and Hedegaard.
The W. O. Larsen store lasted until 2005, when it was sold to Stanwell, who kept up the smoking pipe manufacturing. However, the tobacco production was picked up by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group, who made sure the blends they produce for that brand fit the high quality standards the original W. O. Larsen store held.
This quality serves the Scandinavian Tobacco Group well, as W. O. Larsen tobaccos are one of their best-selling brands, with a popularity that spreads around the world.
We offer you three different W. O. Larsen blends, each of them highly thought of and in great demand.
The Old Fashioned Pipe Tobacco is a combination of Virginia and Burley tobaccos. The leaves are pressed and transformed into smokable tobacco by hand, keeping the old fashioned tradition for which the blend is named.
The 1864 blend is an Aromatic blend, which combines fermented Black Cavendish, Virginia, and Burley tobaccos. The Burley is gathered from three countries, the United States, Malawi, and Mexico. To complete the aromatic aspect of this blend, they added citrus fruits, whiskey, amaretto, and chocolate. This creates a very pleasant room note with a comfortable flavor that you are sure to enjoy.
Finally, the Signature blend is another Aromatic blend, created through the mixture of Black Cavendish, Burley, and Virginia tobaccos, similar to the 1864 tobacco. However, the Signature tobacco uses caramel, vanilla, and citrus to create the flavoring. Another very pleasant aroma comes from this blend, with a sweet and savory taste.
Whichever tobacco you select from W. O. Larsen, you are sure to have a great experience.
