The “408” shape from Peterson pipes, here with P-Lip, falls in the neighborhood of a bent author with apple sensibilities. Note that the shank is wider than is traditional for this bowl shape. Add the classic Aran finish and this tobacco pipe becomes an enchanting blend of traditional and different that you’ll enjoy puffing on for years to come.

This Peterson Bent Author style is a delight to hold and to smoke. The robust size bowl/shank, and thick walls of the bowl, deliver a very cool smoke. I have yet to experience a hot bowl with this one. It fits snugly in the hand. As most Petersons, it has a rather larger airway, which I like.
My preference in tobacco runs toward the Virginia's, so I'm a sipper, not a puffer. But this pipe does both well. If you enjoy bold English blends, this one delivers. My tastes are on the milder side, best of both worlds. I could not be happier with this pipe.
