When Karl Ellenberger, Carl August Ziener, and Gebhard Ott came together in 1901 to formally create the Vauen company, it was originally only a tobacco pipe manufacturer. However, as time went by, the company decided to get into tobacco manufacturing as well, giving its customers both aspects required for enjoying their smoking pipes.
The Vauen tobacco pipes have won multiple awards, with six medals at different World's Fairs, with five of them being gold medals.
