Amphora's Original Blend is quickly becoming a staple of any quality tobacco shelf. This complicated mixture of Dark Fired Kentucky, Orientals, Virginia, Black Cavendish, and Burley all swirl together to promote the latter. This Burley blend is sweetened with a rich dozing of chocolate flavor. We would suggest you cellar this tobacco, but we are sure that once you try it, it will all be smoked in a couple of days.

Didn't smoke smooth, tending to smoke hot, and gave off a fragrance that wasn't appealing to those around me.
This tobacco is high quality, easy to smoke and pack, and is consistent all the way through the bowl. I have smoked very high-end tobaccos and have a cellar full of them, yet this Amphora I keep reaching for and smiling all the way through the bowl daily, sometimes 3 times a day. I actually crave it. Nutty, dense woods, earthy flavors that are never harsh. Easy on the retrohale, wonderful with coffee or tea. I have no idea why this tobacco isn’t recommended by proclaimed tobacco pipe enthusiasts. Maybe it’s just my taste buds agree with this one. But I have yet to find anything bad about this tobacco. And the price….enough said. It’s cheaper than the average high-end tobacco. If you like burley and Virginia, you will like this blend. This is a true all-day smoke for me.
In my opinion one of the best pipe tobacco, very popular, especially in Europe.
As with all Amphoras he quality of these blends improved significantly after the Mc Barens company took over the production several years back, This Original blend is very nice, medium strong everyday burley forward blend, a bit lighter in strength than their Burley blend but more Burley oriented than the Red Full which is about the same in strength scale but more floral and fruity having more Virginias, in my experience all these Amphoras benefit from some drying time prior to loading up , yet same as with St Bruno , using lighter packing practice might be advisable.
The time between ordering and delivery is comfortable.
I used to smoke this in the 70s and 80s I’m glad I brought it back I do my smoking in a Ukrainian pipe.
Has a tin note of spice, burns well enough. Can't smell it. Something of a burley and cavendish blend. Burs a bit wetter than I like, but I may need to let it dry a bit before smoking it. Have some in a pipe to fire up now after lunch. I will order again.
