Ever since the prince shaped pipe became regular, its popularity has skyrocketed. This is most likely true because the sensual shape of the prince is one of the most exquisite of all shapes. This 862 prince belongs to the Chacom Sandblast family of pipes, a series that has a fine grained sandblast finish and a dark walnut colored stain.

This Chacom pipe is everything I was looking for in a pipe. The elegance of black sandblast bowl and the black acrylic stem separated by chrome band, the nice light weight with large bowl yet thick walls so it won't get hot in your hand, a perfect size... All here, so I can't decide what works best, but I think it's the prince shape. I've got lots of pipes, but this was my first prince. It works so well. The big bowl is easy to load and the length and slight bend make smoking easy and care free. I'm not sure why this style is not more popular.
And , Chacom is all about quality, yet very reasonable on price which was also important. Might as well call it a king, it's the leader of my pipes for sure. Nobal? Certainly. A benevolent ruler? Most definitely.
This is the second Chacom that I own, and frankly, it was a surprise. I expected an average inexpensive pipe for everyday use. What I received was a pipe that I would compare favorably with a Savinelli. This pipe smokes cool and smooth with any tobacco. Note that I am a sipper, not a puffer, and prefer long smokes. This pipe delivers despite a rather modest bowl size. Fit and finish is handsome, and the pipe fits snugly in the hand. Weight is comparable to a Savinelli with an apple bowl. If you clench, this pipe will offer no problems. It shipped without a box, but does have a sock. The price is best of all, considering what you get. This may become my favorite pipe.
