Quality Meets Value
This is my first Molina and my first 9mm. I love all of my Savinelli and Rossi pipes and thought what the heck: right down the road in the old Rossi plant, I'll give it a try. This is an exceptionally high-quality pipe for $50. My limit is under $200, so I don't know what a thousand-dollar pipe looks or smokes like. I rate Molina below a Savinelli in fit, finish, and smokability, and on par with a Rossi. On the first smoke I was very frustrated. It smoked awful and whistled. I examined the pipe and found manufacturing debris in the draught hole, or perhaps some of the black coating inside the bowl migrated into the hole. A quick scrubbing with a bristle cleaner resolved the problem and my next smoke was wonderful. The air hole in the fishtail button was slightly irregular in shape but does not affect the great smoking experience. All-in-all, this is equal to, or better that any $50 pipe I have held or smoked. This pipe is a real value and a great smoker.
