Let me begin by saying that for the price it is a great buy. Now! To the actual smoking. It was very pleasant, very few times did I had to relight, Latakia was there but not overly overwhelming and there was no tongue bite that I could detect. I prefer a little more Latakia in my English, but again over all as a daily smoke you can puff on this all day.
From the way it was described by others and the way it smelled in the bag, I had my doubts. I'm not too keen on the idea of smoking Kingsford Mesquite charcoal. I wanted to try an "oriental-heavy English blend" and this was what the guy at pipe shop suggested. This is now my go-to non-aromatic. It has a nice "earthy" flavour with a bit of musky and leathery tones. It is very flavourful but without being pungent like a lot of mixtures with lots of burley. It also is easy to pack, stays lit, and stays pretty cool in the bowl.even with a more zealous puffer like myself. I'll probably buy a pound bag here when I run through the 2oz bag I just bought.
This has got to be the best bulk English blend on the market! So much flavor!
This is a great English blend. The latakia shines as a top player as it should. The orientals add a balanced touch. The bulk price is very affordable. I buy mine a pound at a time and jar. Please give it a try for an affordable bulk English.
Had a couple bowls around some friends who noted it smelled like a "fresh linen campfire." Good scent, not too much taste.
Like it a lot it smokes really well, will buy more.
This is a mellower but fantastic flavored English that has easily become my favorite.
A new blend for me but one that I will be staying with. Mild in taste and aroma but it's all English. I'll have to wear some Tweed to fit the situation.
