The Peterson My Mixture 965 is a fairly strong english blend, but thanks to the large amount of Cavendish used, it smokes very smooth and painlessly. Also combining Orientals and Latakia, this blend is a favorite of intellectuals and connoisseurs. With no flavoring and a tolerable room note, this is a blend that really speaks for itself. For me this was a little on the strong side, be warned! Reminded me of a Balkan mix, or the Peterson Nightcap which is quite similar (perhaps more potent), I gifted to a friend and he was very happy with it!
Fruity but not too sweet. It’s my number 2 right now after C&D gentlemen caller.
It is an all-around smoking favorite. The flavor is one of the best I have found that I like. It is well balanced and great any time of the day.
best i have had
Very nice all day blend. Great flavor cool burn. a good blend for someone new to English blends.
Been an Old Fave for years. This was William Faulkner's tabak of choice in a Digby pipe. Still a Classic, it's rich enough, yet sufficiently mild for an all-dayer. No nonsense, just a great smoke, wonderful flavor, fabulous any time of day or night.
Really good blend for a relaxing smoke. The excellent oriental component is front and center at first with the subtle sweetness of the Cavendish playing more of a role about midway. The whole time you know the latakia is there but not real obvious. Bad things happen when it gets hot but it is difficult to get it there, so smoke it on a good day. This is my new obsession and definitely part of my rotation now.
I found this and went overboard, smoking it daily for about 3 weeks. I smoked it at the end of my evening consistently during that time. I often had time for 2 pipes after work, and I would smoke Old Dublin followed by this. Delightful. I've ordered more and will bulk up when it's on sale. I'm tapering off of both of those blends actually with the weather change but I feel it will be an old friend to always go back to when I wish.
More disappointed, Peterson's 965 and before Dunhill's 965 compared to the difference is too much.
