The Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake is a delicious straight Virginia. The bright leaves are pressed to create cakes and steam pressed until the leaf darkens and matures. The result is a distinctly nutty flavor that is deep, but not overly strong.

One of my favorite tobaccos . Well rounded, milder than 1792 but more flavorful . A great Virginia flake.
This is a good blend for what it is. I find it to be mild and a bit flat at times.
Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake is an awesome tobacco. I have very much enjoyed Gawith, Hoggarth Brown Flake (unscented). The GH has a bit of dark fired Burley and the BBF is straight Virginia. I'd say the edge in the flavor department goes to the BBF. And it has an alluring, amazingly intoxicating om note.
Engaging but not demanding. Sweet but not cloying. The turbinado of tobacco: pure raw refinement. And you don’t have to think about it.
A very nice flake tobacco. Burns long and cool with no tongue bite.
I like most started with aromatics due to flavor and room note " Wife's sensitive nose " determining factor however I wanted to broaden My flavor pallet in the next step in My pipe smoking education. This is a great middle ground tobacco with a light spicy sweet fruit note and finishes with a rich tobacco flavor. This tobacco burns evenly and cool with clean ash and a noticeable nicotine bump. I would highly recommend this tobacco to any one at any stage in their journey in pipe smoking.
