This meerschaum shrapnel works great for aro's or other moist tobaccos that in turn produce smoke with a lot of moisture. I am still a fan of using 9mm on my filtered pipe, but a little layer of this in my compass, i no longer have ANY gurgle, and as other reviewer mentioned, you can tamp as hard as you wish, but your draw will still be nice and light. I haven't tried re-using but that might be possible. these work very well

This works like gravel at the bottom of a planter. The bowl will not clog so you can tamp fearlessly. No more clogged bowls when you're on the road. The meerschaum has superior absorption qualities for your aromatics or the end of your bowl.
