This Oriental is, as the name promises, pure Izmir. Cornell & Diehl Izmir Turkish is spicy, a little sour (in a pleasant way) with a buttery sweet finish. A unique and outstanding pipe tobacco that you’ll want in bulk for regular use.

I’m getting into blending I tried this first on it’s own, to get a feel of it, it’s a very pleasant smoke by itself it’s also been great addition to my blends.

    ok this is pretty good

This reminds me of a cheaper, less flavorful version of THREE NUNS, which is my number one favorite tobacco. So I like this. I'm going to try aging some for a few year and then taste this again. See you in five years.

    Great tobacco

Posted by Bob on 3rd Jun 2022

Alone or blended, this is a fine traditional leaf. I enjoy Orientals a bit more than other folks I know. The flavors compliment so many other tobaccos that I sprinkle this in whenever I want to perk up a blend. Sometimes I just load a bowl and enjoy it straight from the tin. I recommend for any Enthusiast and for most newcomers looking to safely explore new tobaccos

    Izmir Turkish.

This was my first oriental/Turkish blend that was intended for blending so I wasn't sure of what to expect. What I found was a mild to medium tobacco that's not too bad smoked straight. It is more subtle than I expected. A touch spicy, buttery, that's a bit sour/sweet. (In a good way) Has a mild nicotine content. IT is nice smoked straight when wanting straight tobacco that's a bit different. It's rather good mixed with a straight Virginia & would be good blending tobacco to give a lift to blander blends & to mix one's own English/Balkan blends. It's excellent value. Highly recommended for blending & for those who like a straight tobacco taste.

Robust and full-flavored, yet not harsh or biting. Very nice for blending.

    C&D Izmir Turkish

This is some good smoke... Moisten it a wee tad and it's good to go for either pipe or paper. Been smoking this type for years and have never gotten tired of it, either straight up or blended with other oriental and/or Virginia. Enjoy!

    Izmir Turkish

Posted by Ron G. on 20th Feb 2018

Usually, Turkish and Oriental blends tend to be harsh and biting, but not this one! It delivers rich flavor and is exceptionally smooth for its heritage. It is a delight to smoke and is the primary ingredient in my "Industrial Strength" blend.

    C&D Izmir Turkish

I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted C&D's Izmir Turkish. Usually, Oriental tobaccos are strong-flavored and harsh, but not this one. I found it to be full-flavored, rich-tasting, and surprisingly smooth. It is now a mainstay in my blending kit.
