I'm not sure if it's because there are no Virginias and Orientals in this mixture or not, but I do know I really enjoy black cavendish, perique, and latakia. With that said, this blend or mixture is absolutely perfect for my taste. There is no need for me to continue sampling for that perfect English or Balkan blend any longer. I am thrilled with Mississippi Mud - It's perfect, I love it, love it, love it!
When I opened the can (Tin) a pungent aroma was evident, I smoked a large bowl and was extremely pleased …. semi- potent, but very pleasurable. I will get more next order !!!!
Smooth and cool burning. Lots a flavor and a pleasant bowl every time.
Tell you true, this is one of my favorite tobaccos now. I will always have some on hand. Blends well with a strong burly or Virginia Sweet. Smokes great by itself. Good moisture content. Ready to rock!
Absolutely the single best tobacco I’ve smoked. The smell, when you open the tin, is outrageous! It smells like a combination of the best bbq you’ve ever had and the bonfire you ate it around! I’d read and been told multiple times this tobacco will not bite and it doesn’t. Calling it smooth is an understatement.
This is my all-time favorite blend. Smoky, spicy, and murky. Lives up to its name.
Was able to try the Cornell & Diehl Mississippi Mud for the first time. Had the tin for a week or so but just got to it. I guess that is what happens when you buy multiple tobaccos at any given time. At any rate the tin note is very pleasant, not over powering. Can definitely tell that there is Latakia in it. Very nice though. It was a little moist when I opened the tin so a little air dry time made it perfect. It lit well and stayed lit throughout the bowl. Smoked it down to nothing. Could taste the spiciness of the Perique which was just right with a little sweet from the Black Cavendish. I enjoyed the smoke very much. With a pleasant but not overpowering room note also. An all around good experience.
I gave this a 4 out of 5 stars because this was a good smoke, from the opening of the tin to the end of the bowl. Another tin is in the future. I feel I will be smoking this frequent.
This C& D Mississippi Mud is recommended by me who is fairly new to pipe smoking. I don't think you will be disappointed.
