I bought this based on many positive reviews, all saying it was blended in Germany. When it arrived it said Mac Baren. I was worried because every one of their blends reminds me of eating dry captain crunch on the roof of my mouth and then putting a couple 9v batteries on my tongue. No other brands have done this, some peppery, but coming from cigars, that is nice. This has a great flavor but it bites me badly, if you get the seemingly common bite from Mac Baren, this probably will too. I tried lighter and heavier packing, drying out etc. I’ve smoked it so slow it would keep going out, still bites. They are definitely seem to using chemicals and not natural casing and toppings, it can’t be good for you even if you can tolerate it. ‘Food grade’ doesn’t mean natural. Just a warning to anyone that thinks it’s made in Germany, that blend was probably great. I really hope Mac Baren doesn’t acquire any more heritage blends.
Fresh pleasant English tobacco blended better than any. It's just right on the mark not over heavy not super light it's right where it should be .I like English tobacco I find it awakening I read a lot this just goes so well keeping you sharp this with a Italian coffee a good book or research paper and its shut the door i'll see you when I am done time.
My favorite English blend. Mild smoky flavor with just a hint of sweet.
Have great products .
I bought three when they were restocked as it's my new #1. It's no Coincidence I tried this as I'm a Reformed Presbyterian (PCA)
This is a wonderful English blend. Light sweet and just a little Smokey. Burns cool. The smoke is light and tastes amazing. This is my go to at the moment.
This is my favorite English. It’s a nice smooth flavorful smoke. When my wife smokes with me, this is the blend she wants.
I've heard this described as Balkan, and English, both of which I like. This is my go to when I in the mood for either.
This used to be one of my go to brands, but what came in this most recent tin was not the same tobacco. Its got an almost sugary sweet undertone and very little latakia. This was never a latakia heavy blend, but I always knew it was there. It also has never been particularly sweet, save for a hint of natural Virginia tobacco sweetness. I'm going to seal it up and see if it doesn't get better with a bit more age but if it doesn't improve, I'm probably done with this brand.
