A fine light English
If you like EMP you'll like this, I love both and keep them in my rotation. Nothing to dislike here, the room note is pleasant. Smoke is light and white.

Too light for my taste
I tried this mixture on a whim, and I rather wish I had passed on it. It is mostly "citrusy" Virginia with a bit of spice from the Oriental, but the Latakia is not detectable. I would give it a 2 on the strength scale rather than a 3. I admit, my tastes run to the stronger English blends with a lot of Latakia and Perique, so my palate may be biased. But this blend was, to me at least, a disappointment. I would say that for those who like Virginia, it would make a good all day smoke. However, for myself, I would rather have Charatan Eventide or Peterson Nightcap.

Mac Baren bites again
I bought this based on many positive reviews, all saying it was blended in Germany. When it arrived it said Mac Baren. I was worried because every one of their blends reminds me of eating dry captain crunch on the roof of my mouth and then putting a couple 9v batteries on my tongue. No other brands have done this, some peppery, but coming from cigars, that is nice. This has a great flavor but it bites me badly, if you get the seemingly common bite from Mac Baren, this probably will too. I tried lighter and heavier packing, drying out etc. I’ve smoked it so slow it would keep going out, still bites. They are definitely seem to using chemicals and not natural casing and toppings, it can’t be good for you even if you can tolerate it. ‘Food grade’ doesn’t mean natural. Just a warning to anyone that thinks it’s made in Germany, that blend was probably great. I really hope Mac Baren doesn’t acquire any more heritage blends.

Fantastic
This is a wonderful English blend. Light sweet and just a little Smokey. Burns cool. The smoke is light and tastes amazing. This is my go to at the moment.

Great
This is my favorite English. It’s a nice smooth flavorful smoke. When my wife smokes with me, this is the blend she wants.
