For more than a year I have been searching for the perfect tobacco. I was an Early Morning/Nightcap lover but still wanted something even more mellow. I decided to try this based on some reviews and delicious name. I am now on my 5th order of this. This tobacco is as black as the richest soil, moist, and full of aroma. Some will say to dry it out before packing a pipe. I have not followed that advice and pack as is. You will definitely want to char the top and tamp to give it a nice cap. But on arrival it smokes beautifully. I will admit as the bag dwindles, and the drier it gets, it’s smokes even better, but do not hesitate to pack it moist. This tobacco tastes like… well.. nothing. I get no cherry. No vanilla. Not much tobacco. It’s smooth, cool and relaxing. No bite. My wife tells me the aroma reminds her of the way her grandpas tobacco smelled. Pleasant and reminiscent. In closing, while we all know everything is subjective, this is an enjoyable tobacco and while I continue to try to add to my tobacco collection… none matches or exceeds this one. All else is in vein. Do it. Cheers.
The smell of this just through the bag was absolutely amazing. Once jarred, and a few days to a week later the cherry has vanished in the tin and the smoke. Very disappointing. Though a bit weak and low on flavor this is still a nice, easy-to-smoke, cavendish-based tobacco. When I first got this I was sure I'd be buying more. I was wrong.
the black cordial was among my first tobaccos back smoking a pipe. It was nice and mild and had no burn and only a little flavor. It was a good first try but i am moving on to different aromatics.
This is a GREAT smoke. It's what most people think of when they smell pipe tobacco. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.
Nice aroma, burns well after removing moisture.
Had to let the bag sit open for two days due to the extreme moisture "Wet" tobacco.
In a single word, delicious! Sutliff hit it out of the ballpark with this one. The tin note, room note and taste are all outstanding. I have dedicated my Savinelli natural, and my Chacom Nougat to this tobacco. It is on the damp side, so I recommend using two full size wooden matches for the char light. After that it should burn nice, slow and complete. I highly recommend it.
When I was a little kid, there was an old man that smoked his pipe non-stop, and his whole house smelled like this blend. Took me right back to my childhood the moment I lit my first bowl of this. Has a bit of a tinny aftertaste, and is very light on nicotine, but it's yummy. Comes very wet, I left a half pound sit out for 2 hours and it still makes my pipe gurgle about halfway through.
My goodness what a blend. This one has been around for some time and it's a mind blower. Very cool smoking, med+ flavoring that is as good as it gets in the aromatic world. It's a benchmark aromatic and one that any aromatic smoker should try , no doubt.
