My husband is new to pipe smoking and I bought him a couple of pipes and several different tobaccos for Christmas. This Sutliff Black Cordial is by far his favorite. I love when he smokes this, it smells absolutely delicious!
The tin note was not indicative of the taste while smoking. It smoked very cool with a pleasant room note and required one re-light. I would enjoy this with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or a glass of bourbon. Subtle flavors lend themselves to blending with a variety of beverage choices. I recommend it.
Sweet mild smokes clean true taste outstanding aromatic wife &family approved burns slow and fine ash all day type blend.
Man oh man I love this one. It's like the name Black Cordial, it's rich and for treats only. The tin note had me jonesing to try it out. The tin note comes through elegantly I'd say in the smoke. It's not too sweet but respectful to your tongue with the flavors.
Chocolates come through very nice and creamy. The cherry is done just right I think, not in your face but also not artificial. There is a tiny bit of tart to it that works with the chocolate. The vanilla just set's it all off nicely and makes the Cavendish delicious. All that is missing is the cup of brandy to go along with this smoke.
This will definitely be ordered again soon. I wouldn't smoke it daily, as good as it tastes. But as a treat here and there it is amazing. I have really loved this blend. If you are looking for an aromatic that isn't in your face bold, give this a try. The Room note was pleasing and has people talking bringing back memories of old pipe smokers they knew.
I'm not crazy about the tin note. The charing light was very nice. The cherry stood out immediately, the liqueur was subtle but there. This packed well and burnt very well, I did not have to relight until I was almost to the bottom of the bowl and also had a nice room note. At the bottom of the bowl was less than a centimeter of wetness. Thank you, Sutliff, for another good smoke.
This is my new favorite blend. It tastes and smells great. Always smooth and flavorful. No tongue bite. I can smoke this all day.
