Animus is the Latin word for "Soul." A fitting name for anything created by Mastro De Paja. Mastro De Paja stamps their tobacco pipes with "Fatta A Mano," Italian for "Made by Hand." With these handmade pieces, the Mastro De Paja artisans pour their souls into every pipe.
The Mastro De Paja Animus series continues the handmade excellence, with twelve different pipes, six shapes with two finishes each. Every shape ends in a diamond shank, with a brass end cap connecting the stummel to the black acrylic stem. To help identify which shape you get, the pipes are stamped with a two digit numeric code. The Animus shape code is different from others, so don't get confused if you see 01 on an Animus Bent Billiard and an Anima Dublin.
The first finish is a brown, rustic look that gives a great textured feel to go with an excellent look. With rustication, you get a lovely pipe that provides a different feel to a pipe than the smooth versions. Speaking of smooth, that is the second finish for the Animus smoking pipe series. With a light brown coloring, you will get to enjoy the look and swirls of the grain on the briar.
Mastro De Paja's Animus tobacco pipes is a beautiful series, one that will look outstanding in any collection. Use them in your pipe rotation or have them as display pieces; either way, the Animus smoking pipes will be an excellent addition.
