Amazing
Okay so first review out of the tin this a very strong tobacco IMO with tons of pepper, and spice, that said I Jared it for several months since I bought it, and the entire profile has changed with the introduction of air in a sealed mason jar, on the retro-hale there are perfumy floral notes that are amazing, it’s still very strong as well, I highly recommend this one if u like strength with floral on the back end with retro-hale, truly one of a kind and excellent at that!

I am switching from smoking burley to virginia tobacco. I decided this tobacco to be my first. It is excellent.

Hogshead
Nice cake. One of the few SPC offerings without being laden with latakia or aromatic. Burns well, etc. Jim has more descriptive words I won't bother repeating. It's just a nice chewy Virginia based blend.

A very solid, aged, and mellow Virginia
This is a very smooth Virginia blend. Fruity smelling out of the tin, slightly peppery, but not overly so to say the least. The age of the Virginias is present in the taste of the smoke. It has a medium amount of tang, citrus and, earth, to it. It's more bready than grassy, but does possess some grass taste too. Also kind of woody and almost vegetation- like, with a good amount of sugary dark fruit, floralness, and light vinegar notes with just a hint of spice. I enjoy it based on the quality and pairings of the tobaccos alone. 5 out of 5 stars for me.

Must be gentle with it.
You cannot smoke this blend like a freight train and expect anything other then spice and pepper, so the other two reviews are not wrong, that said, I’m using a clay pipe and also retro-having very gently, and in that is the Virginia I love, much as others. I feel it is a very good blend but it must be smoked with discipline, I will update as I go, but initially this is my impression.

Not great
Very disappointing. Pepper, spice and nothing else nice. Wasn’t at all a pleasant virginia.

Spice..thats about it
Got my 3 tins quickly. Opening shows a heft plug with great color. Tin note is figgy and stone fruity. Perfect humidity, no drying time needed. I've had one bowl, so if it changes for me I will update this review. Having said that, very one dimensional. Peppery/Spicy and that's it. None of the traditional Virginia grass/hay/zest. Sorry to have to say all this. I do hope my opinion changes.
