Mississippi River is one of the first pipe tobacco blends sold to the public by the Seattle Pipe Club. This mixture, which pays tribute to an area that has served as inspiration to tobacco users for centuries, is a mild/medium bodied smoke that has a very pleasant room note. This is a tame Virginia based blend, perfect for the smoker who loves flavor but doesn't finder the stronger english blends enjoyable.

My favorite English. Just perfect, all the components work so great together that the smoking experience is great. Not much more to say. I'd put Plum Pudding a close second.
One of my favorite blends of all time is McClelland Oriental No. 6. I've tried to find something similar and Mississippi River is as close as it gets.
What I love about this tobacco is that it hits you with a bright sour rush on the front and sides of your tongue. Then you get the judicious hit of oriental/latakia/and perique. It's a wonderful combination that I think most people underrate. Great smoke, in my opinion; top-five tobacco for me.
Well balanced English, will age very well. Easy to prepare.
I can't imagine that the "Original" formula is better than this. This a really interesting flavorful/complex and easy to smoke tobacco! This will now become another of my favorites. Buying more...
One of the best English blends I've tried so far.It has a robust full flavor and even people who don't normally like the smell Of English blends find it enjoyable though usually after its lit,get your self a tin you'll never regret it.
