I have been on a burley kick lately usually in a Hackert pipe, I’ve smoked many flakes over the years and this is right up there with the likes of the now defunct edge worth flake for a substitute. Ordered a few more for the cellar, contrary to popular thought aging dose add another layer and mellowing to a burley flake if it’s good, usually pack a pipe night before and with good cup of coffee next day all's right with the world.
Very good flake. I love them burleys a nice smooth smoke no bite smokes cool and dry. Very satisfying. Definitely recommend.
The best burley flake in the history of the world! Dry it ... pack and smoke right out the tin ... do with it whatever you like !! If you love tobacco for just being tobacco, no top notes, flavor soaked junk ... just old nutty woodsy smoke then you will fall in love with abf Solani! PLEASE TRY IT
Yes, it needs to dry out a bit before the light. Well worth the wait! I absolutely love it!
This burley flake is soft on the pallet. The nic. hit is just past medium. There is plenty of flavor for the sipper ( like a chocolate meat sauce) but also a burley punch for the puffers. The price is a shade more than other burley flakes but I feel this flake is worth it.
Strong, yet smooth.
If you are a burley purist.. this is your blend. I have smoked this pretty much exclusively for 2 years [all day]. This is superb, hits all the right notes, balanced, and smooth.. oh, and the nicotine is sublime. A+ If you are here because someone told you this was comparable to Solani Burley... move along. This is terrible tobacco, heavily flavored [despite the description] and no better than drug store brands. $20 straight in the trash.
Been a few years since I smoked this great Burly. To me, it is still full flavored. Packs well. Needs to be dried out for a day or two. Required little relighting. It's a fooler. Gains strength as you get to the last half of the bowl. Pretty powerful as you progress to the bottom. Leaves a very strong back taste on the tongue and back of the throat. Burns to ash with little to no dottle. Semper Fi Mike
Great tasting Burley, aged mellow with no bite, great after-taste of light chocolate and licorice on the inhale (very light). Burns clean to the bottom leaving no hoop or mess, just light ash. Easy to tear off some tobacco and rub out in your hand until it’s like the original Amphora which is soft and stuffs into your pipe with no hassle. Tin note is sweet, nutty and light chocolate; mouthwatering. Slow, light puffs/sips like you should smoke Burley will reward you with a smooth, flavorful smoke that will leave you wanting more! Burley smokers dream to be kept on hand always!
